With the Carolina Panthers committing to Teddy Bridgewater, Cam Newton is likely out of a starting quarterback gig for the 2020 season.
The 30-year-old former MVP's destinations are dwindling with the Los Angeles Chargers reportedly committing to Tyrod Taylor, the New England Patriots possibly rolling with second-year QB Jarrett Stidham and potential rookie franchise signal-callers coming out of the upcoming NFL Draft.
Although the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to move on from Andy Dalton, they're expected to select LSU's Joe Burrow with the first pick in the draft. Oregon's Justin Herbert, Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa and Utah State's Jordan Love are also expected to be picked in the first round of the draft.
Here's a complete list of each team's QB situation or potential situation:
As seen from the QB list above, it's going to be extremely hard for Newton to find a role as a starting quarterback. The only potential to become a starter with any team in the NFL is if he signs with the Patriots, which at this point is highly unlikely given they reportedly won't spend big on a QB after losing Tom Brady to the Buccaneers.
In addition, Newton is coming off an injury-ravaged season, missing nearly the entire 2019 campaign, and has taken a ton of hits since being selected No. 1 overall in 2011.
Now he faces an uncertain future despite all the accolades he accomplished with the Panthers.
