Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow could etch his name in the history books if he's selected by the Cincinnati Bengals first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Burrow took home the Heisman Trophy as college football's best player, won the national championship in his final collegiate game and, if he is drafted No. 1 overall, he'll become the first player since free-agent quarterback Cam Newton to check all three of those boxes, .
Burrow was a standout in his final two seasons with LSU and put up 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 2019.
Newton actually didn't even come close to those numbers passing in his final season with Auburn in 2010, throwing for 2,854 yards with 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions, but he was a terror on the ground with 1,473 rushing yards with 20 scores.
Newton was the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft and found plenty of success with the organization before suffering multiple injuries that derailed his career, winning league MVP in 2015 and winning the NFC.
nb游戏平台Bengals fans, of course, hope Burrow is the choice and takes Cincinnati back to contender status.
